One of my favorite holidays has arrived! I love the 4th of July! I love the fireworks, the get togethers, everyone celebrating our great nation! It's such a special holiday! We are heading out on the boat tomorrow evening to see the fireworks off of Gibson Island. We went last year as well and it was really nice. You get to see everyone elses fireworks that they light off from their piers and then Gibson Island sets their display off at 9pm. Hopefully we won't have any thunderstorms. Lightning and boats don't mix! And I don't have a back up plan to see fireworks from land anywhere!
Today we were invited to a birthday party in PA for a friends little boy. We were all planning to go, but Tango started with an upset tummy, had several accidents in the house yesterday while we were out on the boat and then one in the house overnight. I decided that it wouldn't be safe for us all to go, so i stayed home. I really didn't want to have to come home to scrubbing carpets again. I am glad I stayed home, I got so much done with the empty house. I got the playroom cleaned out, a bunch of stuff packed up to freecycle, the whole downstairs cleaned up, my BJ's shopping done, a trip to Target, and the kids birthday shopping done! What a weight that is lifted off of my shoulders! My sister is away this week and my parents are away then following week, so we will all be busy caring for each others dogs. I wasn't sure when I would have time to get the kids birthday gifts. They are always with me during the summer! The kids had a great time at the party too and slept on the way home in the truck. They were very grumpy when they first got home, but once they woke up, they were wide awake and had a hard time falling asleep tonight. I am hoping everyone wakes up early enough to go to the Severna Park July 4th parade and celebration. I always went as a kid and loved it. I have never taken my kids.
I think I will read a little Harry Potter and see if I can get to bed soon!
